Bari Kwaning is the President of the East Legon Young Executive Men’s Fitness Club. His leadership role pivots on the foundations of discipline, integrity and respect and these core values have placed the club on a firm pedestal for positive growth and social impact.

He is an Architectural Engineer by profession and the Founder of Transveld Company in Accra. His practice focuses on architectural design and construction and transformation of urban landscapes in Ghana and beyond through art and innovative sustainable design. 

Bari also is the design and construction head for Buildaf Company Limited, one of Ghana’s leading real estate companies.

Over the years, he has gained extensive knowledge and experience within the design and construction field in Ghana and Europe.

His interest in architecture and construction began at a young age, and he pursued his passion by studying architecture in Central University in Ghana. Bari continued his architectural traineeship with Powerhouse Company, a top-tier architecture firm led by Nanne de Ru in Rotterdam, Netherlands. During this time, He was exposed to the latest innovations and technologies in the field, which inspired him to push the boundaries of what is possible in architecture.

Following his traineeship, he went on to achieve an MSc in Architectural Engineering from Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, the world’s second best college for architecture where he honed his skills in architecture and gained knowledge in circular design principles. 

After his work experience in the Netherlands, Bari moved back to Ghana to practice architecture and make a positive impact on his local community. He practiced with Mobius Architecture, a leading architecture firm based in Accra, where he gained valuable experience working on a wide range of projects. His most significant projects were the design and construction of the ultra-modern 4-star Alisa Hotel in Tema and the New University of Ghana Business School in Legon. The outcome of the completed hotel building is stunning and refreshing and has become the benchmark for architecture in the habour city of Tema.

Bari pivots his architecture practice on the “architect-as-developer” concept which puts him in the position to guide and take full control of the building process from design inception to completion. From his perspective, having absolute control of the design and build process creates an opportunity for architects to create better cities and communities which eventually shape our daily lives.
